Signs of Methamphetamines abuse

The use of the drug Meth comes with many behavioral symptoms when abused which will vary from user to user. Users can experience delusions of grandeur, repetitive and obsessive behavior (such as washing hands or cleaning), or paranoia. Others can experience an increase in violent or bizarre behavior, anxiety, and confusion, or suicidal thoughts. And in cases where the user shares needles and other tools that interact with bodily fluids, they can experience an increased risk of HIV/AIDS.

In the event of an overdose on Meth, there are a variety of symptoms one can use to identify when one occurs. Common symptoms include chest pain, arrhythmias, hypertension or hypotension, difficult or labored breathing, agitation, hallucinations, psychosis, seizures, rapid or slow heartbeat, or hyperthermia.

The effects that benzodiazepines have on the body can range from minor impairments to, at worst, fatal symptoms.

Effects on the Body

While under the effects of the drug Meth, the user will experience an increase in alertness, concentration, self-esteem, libido, and energy while experiencing an intense euphoria.

General use and abuse of Meth comes with side effects that vary in types. In physical side effect cases the user will see an increase in wakefulness, an irregular or rapid heartbeat, increased body temperature and blood pressure, difficulty sleeping, severe dental problems known as “meth mouth”, and irreversible damage to the nerve receptors in the brain that release dopamine. Meth mouth is a common side effect in which the highly corrosive materials used to manufacture meth cause the tooth enamels to reduce and allow decay and infection.  On the mental side effects side, a user of meth can find themselves experiencing hallucinations, depression, and withdrawal symptoms that cause headaches, hypersomnia, drug cravings, and lucid dreams.

The length of time the drug will show up in tests depends on the test. For blood tests, it is visible for up to 48 hours. For urine tests, it is visible for up to 3 days. For saliva tests, it is visible for up to 24 to 48 hours. And for tests involving hair, the drug is visible for up to 90 days.
