Signs of Steroids abuse

When someone is abusing steroids the main, and most common, sign is what is called “roid rage”. This hyper aggressive behavior is common among those who abuse the drug. Those who continually show this type of aggression have most commonly developed a dependence on the drug which has fostered this continued aggression.

In the cases of overdose, corticosteroids are the only steroids that show any significant differences in symptoms compared to the normal side effects of using the drug. When experiencing an overdose, users could find themselves experiencing burning or itchy skin, agitation or psychosis, convulsions, high blood pressure, muscle and bone weakness, nausea or vomiting, extreme sleepiness, worsening health conditions, nervousness, depression, or swelling in the legs.

Effects on America

Anabolic Steroids are very popular with people who lack confidence and mostly those who play some sort of sport or do some physical activity regularly. Among that subset of people, the majority of them are men in their 20’s or 30’s. The ages of those who use anabolic steroids are not just those in their 20’s to 30’s though. With 22% of steroid users starting in their teens, it is easy to see the problem can start from an early age. The number of 8th and 10th graders has decreased since its peak in 2000, but the number of 12th graders using the drug has increased between 2011 and 2015. This number did decrease between 2015 and 2016 and has stayed around the same since 2017.
